Emergency & Storm Damage with Tapson's Tree Service

Treasure Valley wind events don’t keep business hours, and a compromised tree gets more dangerous every hour it sits.

One safety note: if a tree or limb is on a power line, or a line is down, stay well back and call Idaho Power first. We work around lines constantly — but energized lines are the utility’s call, not ours.

“We had a large branch break but was somewhat still attached to our tall tree. Tapson’s was able to come within the hour, after hours, safely remove the branch while keeping the rest of the tree intact. They were mindful of the house and fence and thoughtfully planned how to safely remove the branch. They got all of the branches and chipped it. I’d recommend Tapson’s again and next time, they would be my first call.”

How it works

From first call to finished job

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about your trees

Trimming, removal, stumps or storm damage: tell us how many trees, roughly how tall, and what's nearby. A photo helps.

  2. Step 2

    Look at the job

The trees are checked for health and hazards, along with everything around them: the house, fences, driveways, power lines and access to the yard.

  3. Step 3

    A clear quote

You get a quote that spells out what will be trimmed or removed, how, and whether wood, brush and stumps are hauled away, chipped or left for you.

  4. Step 4

    The work and the cleanup

Limbs are lowered in sections where needed, then the brush is chipped or hauled off and the work area raked clean.

What clients say

“They were amazing. Very professional with good communication. They were cautious of the house and fence line, taking down some Russian olive trees. Which the backyard was taken over by those trees. They were quick and efficient and a nice cleanup job after they were complete. The pricing was very reasonable would definitely recommend them to any friends or family.”

“The team showed up on time with all of the right equipment and safety gear to do the work. The work was tricky, the tree hung over a fence and my covered patio. They did a great job!”

FAQ

Emergency & Storm Damage: common questions

A tree fell on my house. What should I do first?

Get everyone out of the damaged part of the house and stay well away from any downed power lines; call the utility if lines are involved. Take photos from a safe distance and contact your insurance company. The tree has to come off before the roof can be covered or repaired.

Can a storm-damaged tree be saved?

Often, if the trunk is sound and most of the crown is intact. Broken limbs are pruned back to healthy wood and the tree is watched over the next season. Trees with a split trunk, a large share of the crown gone or roots torn out of the ground are usually removed.

Can I cut up fallen trees myself?

Small branches on the ground, yes, with care. Trees under tension, hanging limbs, trees on structures and anything near power lines are another matter: bent trunks and limbs can spring back with great force when cut. Leave those to a tree crew.
