Tree Removal with Tapson's Tree Service

Tree removal is the highest-risk work in this trade. We have the experience, the rigging and the insurance to take any tree down without your property paying for it.

Most Boise lots don’t have room to drop a tree. So we rarely do. Instead we climb or bucket the tree and bring it down in pieces, rigging heavy limbs to the ground under control so nothing swings into a fence, a roof, a service line or a neighbor’s yard.

Before a saw starts, we look at lean, decay, load, wind, drop zones, underground utilities and what’s buried under the turf. Then we set protection — mats over lawns and irrigation, plywood over hardscape, tarps where debris will land.

How it works

From first call to finished job

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about your trees

Trimming, removal, stumps or storm damage: tell us how many trees, roughly how tall, and what's nearby. A photo helps.

  2. Step 2

    Look at the job

The trees are checked for health and hazards, along with everything around them: the house, fences, driveways, power lines and access to the yard.

  3. Step 3

    A clear quote

You get a quote that spells out what will be trimmed or removed, how, and whether wood, brush and stumps are hauled away, chipped or left for you.

  4. Step 4

    The work and the cleanup

Limbs are lowered in sections where needed, then the brush is chipped or hauled off and the work area raked clean.

What clients say

4.8

“They were amazing. Very professional with good communication. They were cautious of the house and fence line, taking down some Russian olive trees. Which the backyard was taken over by those trees. They were quick and efficient and a nice cleanup job after they were complete. The pricing was very reasonable would definitely recommend them to any friends or family.”

Kirsten Murphy

“We had a large branch break but was somewhat still attached to our tall tree. Tapson's was able to come within the hour, after hours, safely remove the branch while keeping the rest of the tree intact. They were mindful of the house and fence and thoughtfully planned how to safely remove the branch. They got all of the branches and chipped it. I'd recommend Tapson's again and next time, they would be my first call.”

Jennifer Fonnesbeck

“The team showed up on time with all of the right equipment and safety gear to do the work. The work was tricky, the tree hung over a fence and my covered patio. They did a great job!”

FAQ

Tree Removal: common questions

Can a tree right next to my house be removed?

Yes. Trees near houses, fences and other structures are taken down in sections: limbs and pieces of trunk are cut and lowered to the ground with ropes. It takes longer than felling a tree in one piece, which is why it affects the quote.

Should a leaning tree be removed?

Not always. Many trees grow with a lean and stay stable for a very long time. A lean that appears suddenly, especially with cracked or raised soil around the base, is a warning sign and should be looked at quickly.

How long does a tree removal take?

A small or medium tree in open space can take a couple of hours. Large trees, or trees that have to come down in sections near the house, can take most of a day or more, cleanup included.
